Melinda has been a licensed massage therapist (LMT) for almost a decade, graduating valedictorian of her class at the Cortiva institute of massage. She specializes in customizing treatments for each individual’s unique needs and goals; combining a variety of massage modalities such as Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, cupping, reflexology, gua sha, sports, reiki, and more.
After battling childhood leukemia for years, Melinda knew from a young age that she was interested in health and wellness. As an inquisitive 10-year-old, she would constantly ask her doctors what all the chemotherapy drugs were doing in her body. It did not make sense to her that everything that was given to her to kill the cancer, was hurting her body in the process. “There must be a better way. Western medicine saves lives in critical situations every day, but our personal responsibility to take care of our bodies throughout our lives takes a more active holistic strategy.” This is Melinda’s focus and passion.
After getting a bachelor’s degree in psychology, she studied holistic nutrition at the Global college of natural medicine. Early on in her career, she enjoyed working as a nutrition counselor and personal trainer but found her passion in massage therapy.
As an LMT, Melinda has worked with physical therapists, chiropractors, and fitness coaches. She has helped open new massage clinics and has been a leading massage therapist at multiple luxury spas in Chicago and surrounding areas.
Melinda enjoys working with a variety of clients from athletes with sports injuries to cancer patients with chronic pain and stress. She is passionate about bringing healing and comfort to others through her work.
